Trustare is a senior care directory. This policy explains what we collect when you use trustare.com, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It covers this website and the forms on it.
You can search Trustare and read every facility page without an account. We receive information from you only when you choose to send it.
Trustare does not collect health or medical information, about you or about the person you are searching for. We do not ask for diagnoses, care needs, medications, insurance identifiers or any other medical record, and our forms have no field for them.
Please do not send medical details through our contact form. If you discuss care needs with a facility, that conversation is between you and the facility and is covered by their privacy practices, not ours.
When you visit, our servers and analytics receive ordinary technical information: IP address, browser and device type, the pages you viewed, and the page that sent you to us. We use it to keep the site working and secure, and to see which pages people find useful.
We do not use this information to build advertising profiles.
We keep cookies to a minimum.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the locale cookie, the site will fall back to your browser's language on every visit.
We use what you send us to do the thing you asked for: answer your message, verify a facility claim, or run your account. We use technical and analytics information to operate, secure and improve the site. We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you.
We share information only in these situations.
Trustare does not sell your personal information, and does not sell or rent enquiries as sales leads. This is a deliberate choice about how the directory works, not only a legal position: facilities pay for tools and visibility, never for contact details or ranking.
Facility records — including Medicare and Medicaid participation, inspection findings and staffing levels — come from public data published by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Ratings and reviews shown on facility pages come from Google. Trustare does not host, write or moderate reviews.
Where a field is blank in the source data we show it as not reported rather than as a zero, because an unpublished figure is not the same as a good result.
We keep what you send us for as long as we need it for the purpose you sent it, and then delete it. Messages sent to support are kept while the question is open and for a reasonable period afterwards. Account information is kept until you delete your account. Anonymous analytics may be retained in aggregate.
We use industry-standard measures to protect information in transit and at rest, including encrypted connections and hashed passwords, and we limit internal access to what each person needs. No service can promise perfect security, so please use a strong, unique password for your account.
You can ask us to give you a copy of the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can close your account at any time, and you can unsubscribe from any non-essential email using the link in it.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to object to certain processing or to complain to your data protection authority. Write to us and we will help, whichever applies to you.
Trustare is intended for adults arranging care and for professionals working in it. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will remove it.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we handle information you have already given us, we will tell you directly rather than rely on you noticing.
Questions about this policy, or about information we hold, can go to support@trustare.com. Facility and listing questions go to partners@trustare.com, or use the contact page.
